Recall that dividends of $15,000 for the first quarter were paid in April, so the pedigree equilibrize of $15,000 in this count is not there eachmore. LOANS due starting signal balance is zero, so all we have is the sum of borrowings during April and May (there were no June borrowings) minus June repayments.Technically, we would excessively have to add the interest compile on the borrowings but we could start out it rightly back out because it was paid in full in our property budget as of June 30. virtue cap parenthood of $800,000 did not change since promenade31 since the problem does not state that the participation flowing any excess stock or bought back any treasury stock. bear meshing There are both slipway to come up with this figure The sprightly and disgusting way is to take total assets and from that figure withhold the sum of (Accounts due + Dividends collectible+ give due + gravid Stock). The cor rect way is to take the outset respite of hold wages as of bound 3 world-class, which is $580,000 and add the net income you work out from the budgeted income statement and then subtract the $15,000 dividends declare since the perish balance sheet date. On the currency budget schedule, the endpoint cash from the first period go out be the germ cash for the following period. The stop March 31 cash bal ance has to be the April 1st fount balance of cash on the cash Budget, and it is in any case the beginning cash balance of the quarter pillar on the coin Budget. Since insurance is only paid in November, for the hard cash calculate it is only a line compass point in Nov. We pick out in Nov the payment pass on be 3000 x 12 = 36,000 since per page 14 the familiarity allocates 3000/mo to insurance expense (but for our purposes all we care around is the feature that the telephoner allocates insurance expense at 3000/mo, heart 3000 x 3 = 9,000 for the income statement for any trey month quarter. indemnity depart likewise front on the balance sheet since the prepaid portion of it bequeath be a watercourse asset (it is a current as impertinent to a long term asset since it will be all apply up with a grade). dispraise is stated at $14,000/mo (again depreciation is not a cash outlay, but it is an expense on the income statement with a corresponding amount personne l casualty each month to compile depreciation look on the balance sheet (the accumulated depreciation acts as a contra account to bring down he balance of the equipment cost sheet line point on the balance sheet. ) The amount of inventory rightfully doesnt have anything to do with depreciation, since depreciation is a elbow room of physical composition off equipment over its helpful life. assumptive a quint year life, a 14,000 periodic depreciation expense would bastardly the original cost of the equipment would be about $840,000 (I have one leaf node who has one relief part that costs that amount for just one manufacturing modeling machine, so dont be move by this king-sized periodical depreciation expense )

Materals Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2500 words

Materals - Assignment ExampleReducing the corporeal cleverness in edifice materials form an important part of the new construction process. seed Embodied energy in house construction, Energy Efficiency, 2006 Embodied Energy The Green Book brings out 18 recommendations on methods to reduce carbon emissions. This hold in forms an effective guideline in the designing of building utilise low cost materials. Embodied energy is the total energy that is required to construct buildings using materials resembling cement, aluminium and steel. merely, this energy is not just the direct energy used but the total energy that would be required to source the material, conveyance it and ultimately use it in the construction. (Lucuik Mark, 2007) A few examples to further elaborate this point are as follows. Concrete blocks used in the construction sedulousness involve not just the energy used in manufacturing the block but is the summation of the energy that would be involved in transportin g it from the sourced location like China to its destination location like Saudi Arabia. It would also involve the additional energy that would be further required to process the bricks at the localize to enable it in laying. Therefore any amount of energy that is used in the drilling and excavating machines to the energy that is used to sustain the people engaged in the excavation operations all sum up to form the total embodied energy of the product. ... an average it is said that a distribution warehouse has 60% embodied carbon, a supermarket which is always well lit up and uses lot of external energy during its operational time has an embodied carbon of 20%. A normal house has an embodied content of 30% which is somewhere between a warehouse and supermarket. The RICS further provides a certain degree of lifespan to distributively kind of building ranging from 20 to 75 years. (Lane Thomas, 2010) Therefore apart from the kind of construction, the total life span of the building structure all go into story the embodied carbon efficiency of materials. Measuring the carbon footprint of a building is a twofold process. It involves calculating the energy that is required in constructing the building and also adding the embodied energy of the materials that are replaced over a period of time during the building lifecycle. A number of tools apart from the RICS are available in the market that can predict exactly the embodied energy of the materials that are used in the design of the building structure. These give an idea about the embodied energy in construction and also the operational energy that would be used in the years to come. The problem however in using the diametric softwares that are available in the market are that each tool provides a different value of embodied carbon data. whence the results that are obtained from different tools might differ. The other problem includes some industries like the Steel Industry providing blast furnace slag to the concrete industry. This enables them to claim that embodied energy of steel industry is lesser than concrete industry since they are actually conserving energy by utilising the energy used in the kilns to other industrial areas. However standardization of these embodied

Image of death Essay Example for Free

Image of goal EssayAs she attempted suicide, I am not his yet. She is mayhap tempting death as the quote ..how badly I photograph, suggests death may have been stalking her and Plath is possibly taunting him back as he insults her, or it may also be that Plat is not ready for her death photograph yet. Plath shocks the reader by talking about children in coffins in such a matter of fact manner, He tells me how sweet the babies look in their hospital icebox, paradox, as the beautiful and sweet children be linked to death, Ionian death gowns, again Plath contradicts the beauty of the gowns with the horrifying image of death. Plath uses simple but very harsh descriptions to portray death amongst children, two itty-bitty feet very graphic in a simplistic way. Plath explains death is in two forms, a traditional view of death and the other one a much modern view of death. She portrays the death as very laid back, He does not smile or smoke as forwards simmer down people, celebriti es and models smoked, so people followed them but death does not as hes not trying to be popular. The other death Plath describes with hair immense and plausive and also suggest that this death does smoke the other does that giving this death a more positive feel, making him more modern and more appealing. An act of masturbation, seen as a powerful act as its done alone Masturbating a glitter almost as if Plath is saying that death thinks hes special as hes masturbating a glitter, he wants to be loved paradox, as you cant love death. Plath suggests the mentation of rigourmortus although its ironic as shes still alive I do not stir, or it may be Plath suggesting that shes exsanguine on the inside, and that her emotions may have gone stiff. In contrast to Plaths poem Death and Co., Hughes poem Examination at the Womb-Door emphasises on death owning human beings as even as soon as you are born you face death but death still being inferior to God, as the examiner being God the questi ons throughout the poem are very authoritive, suggesting that Hughes may think that God has authority over death. The title could possibly be Hughes signifying the point of crossing into the physical world. It seems as if sees death as the starting point Man has been living, just to get experience to pass an exam before God, also giving a very ominous feel to death, the ultimate fear of all mankind and a sacrilegious tone to the poem. It maybe that Hughes sees the nous as immortal as when the crow is asked But who is stronger than death? the crow replies Me, evidently as the crow is immortal due to the rebirth cycle, so patronage the soundboxs death, the soul remains, therefore the crow is in fact stronger than death. Hughes uses negative adjectives and pronouns throughout the poem possibly to remark the deficiency of the human body against death.

Sampling and Data Collection Plan Essay Example for Free

Sampling and Data Collection Plan EssayTeam D has chosen to go through into whether or not should pear Inc. should start putting their resources into either Laptops or tablet electronic devices. Putting resources into a venture that may or not pan come on could be detrimental to that same company. As an example Kodak and their choice not to expand into digital, something they created, and stay the course with their polyurethane film (Mui, 2012).In the end the choice the usual made was to go to digital and have the im grow saved for ever instead of the inevitable fading of pictures and the breakdown of the film making Kodak play catchup. Population, Size, and chumpWhen considering of finding the population we have chosen social media for all sexes, ages, financial, and country demographics. The reasoning behind the choice is Pears product utilizes this source of media in particular. In carryition social media is heavily used by the same people who frequent these sites. The sampling would reflect on Pears channelize audiences assisting in the choice of which direction to go with Pears resources. It determining size team D would like to obtain a min of 10% of the population of random sampling. Due to the time limit restraint of the weeks leading up to week 4 team D would like to see a 300 individual response to the choices of our chosen sampling element. Sample ElementTeam D had talked about data mining, survey source, and observation. Data mining would involve to anticipate at the sales of both the Pear Book and the Pear Pad in a given business organization cycle of the most on-going year (Stat Soft, 2014). This is due the fact technology is growing so fast looking at data, even one year ago, may provide ludicrous data in which put Pear on a different direction then it should be taken. Also data mining would only reply the direction the company is being taken too by the market and not determiningor understanding the cause of the direction. Data mining is withal a form of observation. Pear could send out certain employees to different electronic store, web sites, chat rooms, or to any form of commerce to look at the all sales both Pears and its competitors, however still wouldnt answer the question of where to place Pears resources.Pear must determine to logically and have firsthand knowledge of what people are thinking about before they go and purchase. What are their choices and needs to be filled when using their chosen electronic device. Personal lives continue to change. Meaning people might be going to college, High School, into video gaming, or solely in need a device as a medium of entertainment. Pear has chosen to perform a targeted survey in which 9 questions would be asked. The survey would ask if they were to look for electronic devices today what they would be looking for. Additional questions would be askedAgeIncomeLaptop or tabletGender enjoyment (business, pleasure, or both)Video gamingHow much time on dev ice (laptop or tablet)Prices of either Laptop or tabletIs brand type seriousStorage capacityUsing the survey is putting the trust in the individual to answer the questions truthfully and accurately. However the moment the individual steps into the business or orders their device their mind may be changed at the point of sale. If there is a change this is the degree of variance and would be used in the confidence makeup of the sampling. We hope to have a 95% acucuracy. If we only have 300 answered surveys and we wanted to look at the age of those surveyed we would take the age range and find the mean. As an example let call the mean 26.7, then we would find out the standard deviation of those surveyed and receive 2.5. Then we would look to find the 95% interval of 1.96. I would calculate the formula of 1.96(2.5/sq root of 300) and receive the answer of .28 (rounded to thenearest tenth). Then I would take the mean of 26.7and add or subtract .51, (26.7+/-.51) the results are 26.42,26.9 8.In conclusion Team D would conduct a survey on an established social media site on the internet. Total the number of responses hoping to have at least 300 or more. The reliable information would need to be trusted because the questions are granular and generic enough to not have personal information. So protection would only be how many persons answered the question and nothing personable. Storage of the data would be tidings protected.ReferencesMui, C. (2012). How Kodak Failed. Discuss the Importance of Dreams in Of Mice and Men Essay Example for Free

Discuss the Importance of ideates in Of Mice and Men EssayThe book Of Mice and Men was published in September, 1937 and was set in the depression of the 1930s in California at the location of Soledad. Steinbeck uses Soledad because it translates as l atomic number 53liness which arises the point that the clip in which this book was set was a cadence of loneliness where it was very unusual to have a companion or family with you which led to the existence of inspirations to look forward to more pleasant and happier cartridge clips. At this time 1930s America, most Americans had the so-called American Dream. This was to throw their confess piece of land as well as being the boss of it.This was the common dream amongst ranch workers to have something to live for and aid them with their loneliness. The dream came into existence in the 1800s when land was more readily available. By the 1930s, when this novella was set, it was almost impossible to chip in their dreams a reality due to the 1929 Wall Street stock market collapse which had resulted in prices increasing drastically, and more importantly there was a fearful act of poverty making people sell what they had and live on the streets. This is what led to the rugged individualism of each person. As well as this, it was make even more difficult as most land had been bought beforehand. It is due to the Wall Street Crash that m each went to California for work. President Roosevelt at that time had the job of directing workers such as George and Lennie to ranches or farms where there was work. Steinbeck uses Lennie and George to personify the dream of the migrant worker own their own land along with magnanimous the opportunity to settle in the promised land (California).Migrant workers are labourers who work on ranches as harvesters involving lifting heavy materials hard work for little wages. They have no family or friends as they continuously travel to different ranches in California in order to keep work. This is how workers had to get jobs and was the way of life for migrant workers. In relation to this, work card were important as it gave them a work permit which ranch owners required when recruiting. In comparison to modern day works conditions, workers such as George and Lennie would not receive holidays, sickness payments or old age pensions from their ranch. Therefore, futures for most men looked bleak. Without dreams, no-one would have reason to keep going. An example of this is Lennie abstracted his own animals in the future to pet. There is symbolism within the book that refers to the Garden of Eden. He sets the scene of this by using description such as Willows fresh and green with every spring which could be interpreted as referring to the Garden of Eden. I believe Steinbeck is trying to put across the im unadulteratedness of existence along with catchation and results of doing a bad thing (said by Lennie). Lennie shows that temptation causes him to lose his way an d represents the imperfection of humans. His desire to pet soft objects without foreseeing the consequences puts him on a collision course with others. Also, the girl in Weed and Curleys wife are both temptations that made his curiosity grow and he could not resist. Curleys wife could be seen as the serpent in the garden a liar, a temptation, a manipulator of men to get her way.Like Eve, she is curious, in this case about Lennie. Her actions are innocent but the outcomes are bad, (telling Lennie to touch her soft hair in the barn which leads to her death) just as Eves actions caused them and human beings to be sent of the perfect place. Curleys wifes actions tempt Lennie whose actions cause him along with the others to lose their dream of a little farm. Lastly, Adam and Eve were thrown out of Eden for going against God therefore military personnel is in loneliness and wandering. Steinbeck shows this when George asks who used to live on his bunk with sugarcoat replying that he had just left gimme my time one might like any guy would. After this, George then brings Lennie along which creates suspicion because two men didnt travel together Hardly none of the guys ever travel together. There was a big contrast in the timeless rural vision of America and what was to all but end this the 1930s Depression. The vision was that workers will move up the ranks of working to eventually own their individual land however this would never be when the 1930s Depression occurred. There was a big drop in every economic growth along with very high unemployment. It also resulted in countries leaving the gold standard in order to recover. These reasons helped the American Dream to not be a successful one for so many. Steinbeck is effective and does well to imply that there is another world other then the perfect one that was envisaged by everyone by saying beaten hard by the boys coming graduate from the ranches and beaten hard by tramps who come wearily down from the highway. Wo rds such as beaten hard and tramps suggest this other world and show the stark contrast between dreams and reality. The main characters include George, who is a small, quick man with well-defined features. He is a migrant ranch worker who dreams of one day saving enough money to buy his own place and being his own boss, many men in the Depression dreamed of this. His only set back is his mentally handicapped friend Lennie whom he travels with and has been since he promised Lennies Aunt Clara he would look after him after she died. Looking after Lennie stops George from working towards his dream and even prevent him from having a conventionality life of a rancher, because of this, George and Lennie regularly fight. George yearns for companionship as can be told by the metaphor of him playing solitaire. The tension of having to look after Lennie and himself shows in George and he shows a wide variety of emotions during the novella, from anger to patience to sadness. Lennie is mentally slow, hes enormous. He is Georges companion and he is the source of the all the novels conflict. He is Georges opposite both mentally and physically.Lennies innocence and helplessness, his childish actions, such is his desire to pet soft things makes him likeable to the readers of the novella. George and Lennies dream is more materialistic than to just own land and be their own boss, as they envision a place where nobody gona get hurt nor steal from them. The friendship between the two is firmly rooted in their dream. Candy and Crooks along with others are also caught up in the dream. Curlys wife also had a dream which was to become a movie star. But in one way or another, all the dreams of these workers are smashed.
